About Me

My name is Kody Nelson, age 31, and I live in the Salt Lake City area.  I grew up in the small farming community of Vale, OR.  I have a BS and MS in Electrical Engineering from Utah State University and a MBA from the University of Utah.  I've worked for L3 Communications in Salt Lake City for about seven years. 

This was the first ever major construction project for me.  While I've always enjoyed do-it-yourself type projects, this one was huge.  A special thanks goes out to Jon Hansen of Syracuse and his Dad Mark Hansen of Ogden for making this project possible.  Jon is a General Contractor by trade and brought much of the expertise to the table for building the cabin.

I originally started this website to document our cabin project and let others see what we accomplished. Over time I have continued to add details to help others working through similar projects.
